So why is the natural reaction to a majority of people a loud groan when they get that letter in the mail that says they have been chosen for jury duty? It seems to me that jury duty has been given a bad rap. Jury duty is like the new kid in school who Suzy heard from Mike who heard from George got expelled from their last school due to snorting crack on the tennis court after school with gang members. For as many people that complain about the Judicial system, there is a ridiculous amount of people who have not sat through a whole trial. Maybe its because Law & Order has been on television for way to long. Maybe it because we read and hear about so many issues happening in court, or that guy in jail for 10 years who was innocent. Its so easy much easier to complain about stuff then to actually try and change it right?
My dad, I love him to death, but man he has to much free time to complain and just rant about so much stuff. What’s weird is that he can talk to the TV and complain and we can complain but it doesn’t stop him from doing it. But he is one of those people that likes going to jury duty. He sees it as #1 time off work and secondly a way to see how messed up the system is. Funny thing is that for some reason he rarely gets chosen to serve. Continue reading →
Before reading what I have to say you should watch this video first.
and now that you are done…..
You know how they say that sometimes when you have a revelation or decide on something, then things reflect the decision you make. Things before that you may not have noticed before show up to your open eyes and coincidences that help you confirm your decision was right. Like when I made the decision to leave my job of ten years and pursue happiness beyond the blue polo. To try something new and to spend more time with loved ones. Then all around me it seemed as though it was destiny. Ad’s on TV talking about working for yourself and following your dreams. Newspaper articles talking about more people pursuing their dreams and being able to be their own boss. Blogs written about how the general working public is scared of job security and miserable at work and at home. Those were all there before but now I paid more attention to them. This video is another one of those small things that makes me say damn right I made the right decision. I am to young with to many ideas and thoughts, to be set on my ways so early in life. :Shaking my head:. Not sure why oh why this song was created. I know Lil Wayne is the hottest thing since supernova’s but seriously does everyone have to make a song with him. I mean we all pretty much know to get radio play you need a somewhat catchy upbeat song to play on the radio and clubs. I have no issues with making money or sacrificing a little bit for the betterment of your family. With that, how do you almost make a complete 180 from where you started. I remember a time over 10 years ago seeing the Black Eyed Peas. But not the same BEP of today, this was pre-Fergie. This was when they were all about hip hop, making beats and rapping. They were somewhat large, but not radio play big. This was a time where they played at import car shows and before Tile Tequila changed her name. Around this time is where Weezer came out and had a cult like following.
I really like the album Make Believe which was a huge change from them, but I am afraid the days or Undone – The Sweater Song are long gone. Right now this is out of anger. I am sure I will read a article about why they made this song or some explanation. And after hearing it for 8 weeks on the radio it will somewhat grow on me because it gets people pumped up at the bar. I dunno, but right now I am disappointed and want things to go back to how they were musically. I am one of the first people to say to have a hit album you probably need a lot of radio/club hit, especially if you are “hip-hop”, “pop”, or “alternative rock”. But how much of yourself do you sacrifice for the all mighty dollar.
Who knows I am blabbing and writing this with little sleep so it’s probably all incoherent anyways. Well check it out, its not a video, yet.
