So you would think that people would maybe just stay home on a Saturday, knowing most people were off. But no of course not that would make to much sense. What cracks me up even more, especially working retail, is just knowing that so many places can’t replenish stock over a Saturday and Sunday. It is nearly impossible. If everyone is working from 2am till 11pm and the store opens the next day at 8am, where do you find staff or product to put back up? It’s funny hearing people complain and moan about stuff not being available. Seriously though, are you serious about that?
With that being said I went out to try and find one item, which I guessed would be gone. And it was gone haha. It was a good deal but not great, but does rarely pop up at that price. So I wasn’t to devastated. Stopped by the outlets, got a killer parking space, but only stopped by two shops. I too am one of those people that don’t like to shop with a bazillion other people. Mainly because parking sucks and stuff is missing because I am a average size.
So that was the madness of my day, maybe hit up another outlet or mall in a bit just to see. But it’s a chill day and after 10 years of retail, I would not have it any other way

First time in over 10 years that I am not working today. So you would think that I would have a lot to say today. But I just want to enjoy it. I slept in, had a headache and just chilling for the most part till later on. There was no way I was going out today to try and get any “deals”. So I hope today was a lazy day in part for most of you. But be safe out there and enjoy the day…

This blog is actually being written before Thanksgiving. But since I am taking a small sabatical (I don’t think I’ve used that word ever lol) in Colorado I won’t have time to actually write this the day of. Also when this post goes up I will actually be on a plane on the way back home to be able to celebrate the holiday with my family. Thanksgiving is a great time for reflection on your life and be grateful for the things that you have. If you have the ability to be reading this, then you are more well off then the general population of this world. Here are some of the things that I am thankful for in the year 2009.
- My freedom. I realized that as much as I have to complain or hear about people complaining, we are very fortunate to be living where we are. A lot of times you take so much for granted especially things you have had since birth. For some reason recently I have had a few conversations surrounding 9/11 and realized how vulnerable our life can be at times and not to take it for granted.
- My opportunities in life. With me leaving my former job I have had the opportunity to pursue some of my dreams. I figure that this would be as good a time as any. I am not to old or committed to any person, place or thing. Also if you are going to do something, you may as well go all in feet first right? And with the way the world work, I am afforded that opportunity to try new things.
- My health, knock on wood. A few winter’s ago when I was working overnights I had a period of my life I call the “depression period”. I was working overnights so I had little interaction with many people including close friends. I got sick for a small period but got over it pretty quickly. But I lost my smell so that meant I lost taste. So to this day during the holiday time I try and be even more aware of what I eat and my health, to a extent. But overall I am a decently healthy man, little higher weight then I want, but average blood pressure and a little high cholesterol.
- My friends, physical and “online”. That sounds weird but with this digital age, there are plenty of people that I know online only that are great people. Also plenty of people that I can’t see or meet up with due to time and distance. My friends and people I associate myself with are the best around and I would not trade them for the world. But I am also more then open to new people to add to the list.
- My amazing family. Throughout this year of change for me, I have had nothing but support and help from all of them. Maybe it’s due to my work background and my mentality but no one has told me that I am crazy or want to disown my just yet for decisions I made. But I also know at the drop of a dime they would also call me out and tell me what they feel at any time.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. Be safe, enjoy the company you are with, eat a lot and just be grateful for the things that we have. See everyone soon.
